Customer Profile; Steve Willgoose
Born in England in 1965, Steve’s family moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1969. Steve quickly found that he wanted to get out of school and start building things with his own hands. Trained on the job in machining, tool and die making, cabinetry, construction, glass work, silicone molding, and mechanics,he moved to Vancouver, BC in 1991.
This wide ranging work history led to a position as an exhibit fabricator, creating exhibits for Science World in Vancouver After 14 years in that position, Steve started his own business on BC's Sunshine Coast. He and his wife Doreen built their own Craftsman home (see photo) taking a year off his business to build it, Steve especially enjoys having the entire bottom floor as his shop. He gets to look out over the ocean and feels it does not get any better than that.
Steve has been fabricating museum exhibits, custom furniture and some high end custom furniture and kitchens for twenty years now.
Steve believes in putting the very best quality he can into every customer’s piece, He takes great pride in his work and plans on it being around a hundred years from now.
“We all know there is a lot of junk around in the stores these days if you just have a close look at it, I just want to make something you could hand down to your kids instead of putting it in a yard sale. I try to make solid and practical items for people, that's always been my thought on it.”
Laguna Tools is proud to be helping craftspeople like Steve Willgoose provide lasting quality to discerning clients.
