Laguna Tools is looking for Star Woodworkers! All you have to do is set up your video on a tripod and tape yourself using a Laguna machine*. Then send us the MINI DV Tape and we will review it for Web submission – its that simple! Then we send each of the first 50 eligible entrants a $100 Laguna Tools Gift Certificate.For the best results do the following:

1. Make sure your machine is in a clean and safe area with no clutter around it.
2. Wear safety equipment.
3. Put your video camera on a tripod or set somewhere solid when filming. Alternatively, have someone take the video.
4. Take clips from different angles of you using the machine.
5. If you don’t want your face to be shown, film only your hands and body while using the machine.
   
6. Explain what you are doing.
7. Explain what you have been using the machine for, types of woodworking you do.
8. Tell a story about yourself and your machine. Why you bought it, how long ago you purchased it and what you like most about it.
9. What does your machine do best?
10. Check the Audio!
11. Keep it simple.

1. Label the tape with your name, phone number and the Laguna Tools product.
2. Complete the Entry Form / Release form and enclose with the Tape.

Not all tapes may be used. Laguna Tools reserves the right to edit each tape as needed for marketing purposes. In exchange for the Mini DVD tape Laguna Tools will send the first 50 customers a gift certificate in the amount of $100 toward the purchase of Laguna Tools products. Tapes are due no later than August 30th, 2008. All tapes will be eligible for the Grand Prize of a $1000 gift certificate for the best tape.

1. INTRODUCTION: Laguna Tools, Inc. (“Laguna”) needs videos of customers using Laguna products for use on our website and other promotional materials.  The Laguna Tools 2008 Customer Video Contest ("Contest") is sponsored by Laguna Tools, Inc. ("Sponsor"), 17101 Murphy Avenue, Irvine, California 92614.

2.  HOW TO ENTER:  Visit www.lagunatools.com/contest/video.rules.htm to download an entry form.  Complete the entry form and send with your video to: Laguna Tools, 17101 Murphy Avenue, Irvine, California 92614; Attn. Video Contest.  Your Video must be in miniDV format - NO DVDs accepted. No duplicate entries are permitted and each Entrant must be the person depicted in the video. 

3.  ENTRY PERIOD: Entries will be accepted from 12:01:00 AM (ET) on July 1, 2008 through 11:59:59 AM (ET) on August 31, 2008 ("Entry Period") Pacific time.  Laguna is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected or postage-due mail entries.

4. PRIZES.  Entry Prizes:  The first fifty (50) Entrants to submit a valid, eligible entry will receive a one hundred dollar ($100.00) gift certificate good towards the purchase of any Laguna Tools product (except Festool products).  Grand Prize: One (1) grand prize, consisting of a one thousand dollar ($1,000.00) gift certificate good toward the purchase of any Laguna Tools product (except Festool products), will be awarded on September 9, 2008.  The winner of the Grand Prize will be determined by a random drawing from among all valid, eligible entries received by Laguna during the entry period, odds of winning depending on the number of valid, eligible entries received.  Laguna reserves the right to substitute prizes of the same approximate retail values.  All federal, state, and local taxes and fees are the sole responsibility of the winner.  All prize amounts are stated in U.S. currency. Winners will be notified by phone and the prizes will be sent FedEX standard.  For names of winners, check www.lagunatools.com website daily.

5.  ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:  Each Entry must be the original work of the Entrant, may not have been previously published, may not have won previous awards, and must not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity.  Except where prohibited, submission of an entry constitutes Entrant’s consent to Laguna’s use of Entrant’s name, likeness, voice and/or biographical data for advertising and promotional purposes without limitation and without additional notice, compensation or consent.

6.  LAGUNA COMMITMENT TO SAFETY:  All persons involved in the creation of the video must wear appropriate safety equipment.  If the video is filmed by the person depicted in the video, then Laguna recommends the use of a tripod or some other stationary piece of equipment.  UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should the person attempt to film while operating a machine or undertake any other activity that could distract the person or result in injury.  The content of the video must not, in the sole and unfettered judgment of Laguna, contain any inappropriate content or depict any dangerous activity.

7.  ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Laguna or its affiliates, sales representatives, agencies, dealers, retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and promotional and other vendor agencies involved in the promotion, and the immediate family members and households of all such employees, are NOT eligible.  Entrant must be in good standing with Laguna and not delinquent in payment owed. 

8. GRANT OF RIGHTS: All entries become the sole property of Laguna and Laguna shall have the right, but not the obligation, to use any entry.  Each Entrant into the Contest irrevocably assigns and transfers all rights, title and interest in the Entry to Laguna, including, without limitation, all copyrights, and all rights incidental, subsidiary, ancillary or allied thereto (including, without limitation, all derivative rights) in and to the Entry for exploitation throughout the universe, in perpetuity, by means of any and all media and devices whether now known or hereafter devised. Each Entrant gives Laguna the right to publish, use, adapt, edit and/or modify his/her Entry in any way, in any and all media and without consideration to Entrant or other identifiable persons depicted in the Video, for any purpose which Laguna deems necessary or desirable, and each Entrant irrevocably waives any and all so-called moral rights they may have herein.

9. GENERAL RULES:  The Contest is governed by and subject to the laws of the United States. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All Entrants will be required to sign an entry form upon submission of their entry (“Entry Form”). Failure to submit an Entry Form will result in disqualification. By submitting an entry or accepting a prize, Entrant agrees to hold Laguna and its respective directors, officers, employees and assigns harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activity. Laguna reserves the right, in addition to those other rights reserved herein, to modify any date(s) or deadline(s) set forth in these Official Rules or otherwise governing the Contest. Entrant agrees to accept and abide by the rules of this sweepstakes and agrees that any dispute with regard to the conduct of this sweepstakes, rule interpretation or award of prize, shall be submitted to Laguna, whose decision shall be binding and final.  Laguna is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of this offer, administration of the sweepstakes or in the announcement of prizes. In the event Laguna is prevented from continuing with this sweepstakes, or the integrity and/or feasibility of the sweepstakes is severely undermined by any event including but not limited to fire, flood, epidemic, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, war (declared or undeclared), terrorist threat or activity, or any federal, state or local government law, order or regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction (each a “Force Majeure” event or occurrence), Laguna shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to abbreviate, modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the sweepstakes without further obligation.
